Optimal percent measures how strong a play a player is, based on how often they belong in the best possible lineup for a slate. A player with a high optimal percentage is one the numbers keep pointing to as a core piece.
Why it matters
It is a fast way to separate the true difference-makers from the merely playable. When you are staring at a full player pool and need a starting point, the players with the highest optimal percentages are the ones most worth building around, before you layer on your own reads about ownership and leverage.
Where you see it in DFS Hero
In your player pool, the OPT column carries this figure, and it is the grid's default sort. Opening a fresh slate, your strongest optimizer plays are already sorted to the top, ready for you to lock, fade, or build around.
