Leverage

Last updated Jul 14, 2026

Leverage is how contrarian your lineup is versus the field. It compares the ownership in your lineup to the average ownership of the field. Lean on players the crowd is fading and you gain leverage; load up on the most popular plays and you lose it.

Why it matters

In large tournaments, you do not just need a good lineup, you need one that is different from everyone else's when it hits. Leverage is the edge that pays off when a lower-owned player goes off and most of the field misses it. Chalk can still be right, but leverage is how you separate from the pack.

Where you see it in DFS Hero

The contest simulator reports a leverage figure on each lineup after a Build and Simulate run, so you can sort your pool toward more contrarian builds when you are playing for the top.
