A dupe is a lineup that other entrants also submit. The dupe estimate is how many copies of your lineup are expected to appear in the contest. The more obvious and chalky the lineup, the more likely it is to be duplicated.
Why it matters
In a top-heavy tournament, duplicates split your upside. If ten entrants share your lineup and it wins, you split the top prize ten ways. A lower dupe count means that when your lineup hits, more of the reward is yours. Uniqueness is not just about being different for its own sake, it is about keeping your winnings intact.
Where you see it in DFS Hero
The contest simulator estimates duplicates for each lineup and reports them as a dupes figure. The realistic field it builds deliberately reproduces the way popular lineups repeat in real contests, so the estimate reflects a true-to-life field. The Low Dupes selection option favors strong lineups that are also less likely to be copied.
