Late swap re-optimizes your already-submitted lineups after some games have started. It replaces players in your open slots while keeping locked players pinned in place, so you can react to news without breaking your roster.
When to use it
Reach for late swap when a game has locked but others have not, and a player you rostered is now a problem: ruled out, projected at zero, or simply no longer your best option. Any player whose game has already started is locked and cannot be moved. Only your unlocked slots can change.
Patch vs Re-optimize
The Swap surface gives you two presets:
- Patch replaces only the players who are out and keeps every other slot exactly as it was. This is the surgical fix.
- Re-optimize frees all of your unlocked slots and re-solves the affected entries for the best remaining lineup, respecting your constraints.
Preview, then apply
You always preview before anything changes. The Swap sheet shows the projection change, a before-and-after diff for each entry, and how your exposures shift. Pick the entries you want to swap, review the preview, then apply. Your entries update with the new lineups.
To get an updated file for your DFS site, export your entries again after swapping and re-upload it there.
Late swap is available on classic slates for supported team sports.
